Stand-up Psychology for Youth
- an innovative start-up in independent life

For all of us, having a happy life means something else; but beyond the practical aspects, what make us happy is the freedom to be ourselves, the freedom to choose one way or another. And yes, we reached the point in which we can make choices and we can choose us, knowing who we truly are and want. But until there, we have to live a stage in which we are hanging between what somebody tells us we are according to the past experiences, the values inherited from our family and who we are building an independent life, in which we have the courage to affirm our identity discovered and follow our dreams.

This journey from who we are through our heritage and who we are in reality is full of challenges, in the same way the heroes from the fairy tales has to pass some tests for reaching to the happiness till the deep old age. And that’s why, for winning our freedom in building our life as we want, it is needed first to ask ourselves questions about who we are now and who we want to be, it is also needed to answer  these questions and more others, to integrate what we received, to select and adapt the stuff to new values which we are settling and assume the building of the dream and our own reality, no matter what are the requirements of those who want us to carry on another dreams, which don’t belong to us.

And because we, the people from Gamma Institute, love to encourage great dreams, to help people in taking wings and to connect to the profound dimension of their being, this year, will develop a project addressed to youth who want to start up in an independent life, in a different way, according to their greatest dream. “Stand up Psychology for Youth” is an international project, coordinated by Gamma Institute in partnership with two organizations from abroad – CEIPES Italy (Centro Internazionale Per La Promozione dell’ Educazione e lo Sviluppo, Palermo) and ASPAYM Castilla y Leon Spain – a project financed through ERASMUS + Program.

Through this project, we want to support the young people in developing their abilities for a healthy start-up in the life of young adult and to facilitate the transition from the stage of youth to the maturity one. As usually, we will do it in an innovative way, through the youth’s mobility “Stand-up Psychology”, which will take place in Iaşi, during five days (4-8 of December 2017). In these five days, 21 young men from Romania, Italy and Spain, will experiment the challenges of start-up passing by all the stages: self-knowledge, the battle with inner and extern obstacles, resources discovery, dream’s building and creation plan, through non-formal group activities, from outside daily context and their comfort  zone.

In order to make this journey more exciting, we will join together with the organization’s representatives engaged from Italy and Spain, next week, on the 1st and 2nd of June 2017, to Gamma Institute, for preparing the activities and for “conspiring” against old mental programs that maintain us in a story where the dreams are too bold to become reality. We are looking forward to tell and show you how it was in the first meeting of the project “Stand-Up Psychology for Youth”.
